THE INSTITUTE OF

The Marginal and Imaginary Regions

Remains imaginary as of:

Continuing his research, documented in “Mot’s Easel Discovery”,  Mot noticed that the motion of the boat seemed to curve slightly when it entered the space of the shelves where imaginary books are housed in the workroom. Using his instruments, he followed as the tiny boat grew closer the space of an imaginary book, and he observed that his mysterious subject appeared to become even tinier. Then, with great surprise, Mot discovered that, if he followed closely, he was able to view the interior of the book from the perspective of the boat.  This was completely unexpected.

Here is what Mot saw inside the imaginary book:

Mot has a theory that the book (which is one of our many unidentified possible books) might appear vast and empty because it is unarticulated.  An imaginary book is uncharted waters.

He tried generating some imaginary titles:

  • Enthralled by New York
  • The Penciled Mustache
  • A Brilliant Aroma
  • The Echo in the Cave
  • Gaffes and Absurdities
  • The Forgotten Café
  • Apertures and Knapsacks
  • The Mid-Atlantic Murmur

The possibilities are endless.

Mot’s method was to randomly generate titles using phrases from existing books.  If you have any titles to suggest, you can send a message directly into the workroom of the IMIR via email.

Mot and I will test each title we generate or are sent. He says he expects to report results soon.
